Karen Minasi, MS, CCC-SLP, earned her Master's of Science from New York Medical College in 2014. She specializes in evaluating and treating children with communication deficits related to autism spectrum disorder, childhood apraxia of speech, language disorders, developmental disabilities and articulation disorders. Her passion is working with children with challenges in expressive and receptive language , and providing this demographic with the means to connect with caregivers and peers. Her mission is to create possibility and opportunity in the lives of her clients.
In her professional career and personal life, Karen has had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations. Her exposure to many paths of life is what drew her speech pathology and fed her desire to be a proponent of change. She began her career in NY where she gained experience working as a speech-language pathologist in a specialized preschool for children with autism and other developmental disorders. Since then, she has had experience in public schools, a specialized school for medically fragile students, and residential community homes with children and adults with special needs. Her knowledge of ABA therapy gives her a unique opportunity to assist children with ASD and behavioral challenges, and put into practice the change she desires to create. Karen is devoted to working with children and parents to create the most functional program for her clients at OBH. She is a lifelong learner and continually pursues knowledge and methods to enhance her passion, her career, and her impact.
